Recruitment to the Chief State Solicitor's Office

The CSSO comprises principally of solicitors, legal executives and an administrative staff. It is also staffed with specialist posts such as librarians, records managers and accountants.

External Recruitment

Entry to the Professional stream is at Solicitor level. Candidates must be enrolled as a solicitor in the State or expect to be enrolled or qualified in the State on or before a specific date.

Entry to the Technical stream is at Legal Executive level. Candidates are required to have at least two years experience on legal duties in a solicitor's office and hold an approved diploma in legal studies.

Entry to the Administrative/ Clerical stream is at the general civil service recruitment grades of Clerical Officer or Executive Officer.
