Recruitment to the Chief State Solicitor's Office

The CSSO comprises principally solicitors, legal executives and administrative staff.

Entry to the Professional stream is at Solicitor level. Candidates must be enrolled as a solicitor in the State or expect to be enrolled or qualified in the State on or before a specific date. Entry to the Technical stream is at Legal Executive level. Candidates are required to have at least two years experience on legal duties in a solicitor's office and hold an approved diploma in legal studies. Entry to the Administrative stream is at general civil service recruitment grades.

Recruitment competitions to permanent posts are undertaken by the Public Appointments Service on behalf of this Office and are advertised on their website www.publicjobs.ie. We occasionally recruit under licence from the Public Appointments Service to fill contract Solicitor vacancies - advertisements for these posts appear on this website.
